Acrylic sealants started to appear in the USA and Europe in the late 1970s. No exact date of their "birth" was recorded: they were the result of the evolution of acrylic fillers, as manufacturers gradually changed the formulation of fillers and gave them more and more of the properties of a sealant.
Acrylic sealants are made on the basis of a water dispersion of an acrylic or an acrylic-styrene polymer. The properties of the resulting sealant depend largely on the quality of that base. A sealant also contains a mineral filler (most often ground calcium carbonate), a thickener, a plasticizer, a biocide and a coloring pigment (if the sealant is colored).
The KRAFT series has a new product, Universal degreaser KU-9102.
A high-quality formulation based on non-aggressive solvents. Degreaser is used to prepare various parts for painting to clean and degrease the surface.
Our range has a new product – Multipurpose acrylic adhesive “Liquid nails”, frost-resistant KBB 301.
This high-quality acrylic adhesive is intended for professional use: installing items made of wood, chipboard, fiberboard, EPS, XPS and UPVC on concrete, brick, stone, metal, plastered and wooden surfaces. It suits assembling wooden structures and bonding drywall, OSB panels, decorative elements, window sills and insulation of various types.
Our range has a new product – General purpose silicone sealant, 85 ml.
The sealant is now supplied not only in 280 ml cartridges but also in 85 ml tubes. This pack is convenient for local repairs: one tube fills 6–6.5 linear meters of joint with a 4 mm bead. Two versions are available: transparent and white.
Silicone was first obtained in 1934 by Dr. James Franklin Hyde at the glass company Corning Glass Works. It was originally intended for use as a seal between iron and glass, but the material turned out to be one of the most versatile ones available. The first curing silicone-based sealants appeared in the 1970s and have since come into wide use in almost every industry, from rocket building to home repair. In construction, silicone sealants are used to fill joints of all kinds in order to seal them and protect them from moisture and other adverse factors, and also to bond various surfaces.
The KUDO® paint range has a new product – Light-reflective paint with high-intensity aluminum reflector KU-4950. The paint makes objects clearly visible after dark in car headlights and other directional light sources. It can be applied to any hard surface, both indoors and outdoors.
New colors and a new can design for the radiator spray alkyd paint!
In addition to the white gloss paint for heating radiators KU-5201 already in production, White matt KU-5202 and Black matt KU-5203 are now available. The can design has changed as well.
The KUDO® range has a new product – the multipurpose NEXTGEN joint adhesive sealant based on hybrid polymers in a 280 ml cartridge, KBK-524 and in a 600 ml sausage pack, KBP-524.
The KUDO® range already included a constructional hybrid adhesive sealant; the new product is a joint hybrid adhesive sealant. Both are multipurpose and can be used either as an adhesive or as a sealant, but they also differ.
The joint adhesive sealant is more elastic (elongation at break of 450% against 250% for the constructional one) and therefore suits sealing moving joints better, where the first priority is a reliable seal on a connection under constant deformation.
The constructional adhesive sealant, in turn, is preferable as an adhesive, when mating parts have to be bonded securely. It has a higher hardness (50 Shore A against 40 for the joint version), a higher tensile strength (2.2 N/mm² against 1.5 N/mm² for the joint version) and roughly one and a half times higher adhesion to various materials.
Both hybrid adhesive sealants are white, but they can easily be painted any color.
Our range has a new product – General purpose silicone sealant DONEWELL®, 40 ml.
The sealant is now supplied not only in 280 ml cartridges but also in 40 ml tubes. This pack is convenient for local repairs: one tube fills 2.5–3 linear meters of joint with a 4 mm bead. Two versions are available: transparent and white.
