Have your PVC window frames lost their looks? Do you want to change their color from white to something else? It can be done with the aerosol paints from KUDO®.
Refreshing a white frame
If the white frame simply needs its look refreshed, you can use the acrylic paint for PVC profiles KU-6101.
Repair procedure:
- Clean the surface to be painted of dirt and degrease it with the universal degreaser KU-9102.
- For better adhesion you can apply one coat of the adhesive activator KU-6000 (with an acrylic paint this is not required)
- Apply the white paint for PVC profiles KU-6101.
- Full drying time of the paint is two hours.
Painting the frame a different color
If a white window frame has to be painted a different color, it can be done with one of the acrylic paints from KUDO®.
Matt finish. Repair procedure:
- Clean the surface to be painted of dirt and degrease it with the universal degreaser KU-9102.
- For better adhesion you can apply one coat of the adhesive activator KU-6000 (with an acrylic paint this is not required)
- Apply the acrylic primer-enamel KU-60XX. There are 12 colors to choose from, all of them to the RAL standard. The primer-enamel goes on in 2-3 coats with 10 minutes of flash-off between coats.
- Full drying time of the primer-enamel is two hours.
Gloss finish. Repair procedure:
- Clean the surface to be painted of dirt and degrease it with the universal degreaser KU-9102.
- For better adhesion you can apply one coat of the adhesive activator KU-6000 (with an acrylic paint this is not required)
- Apply the universal fast-drying acrylic RAL paint KU-AXXXX. There are 20 colors to choose from, all of them to the RAL standard. The paint goes on in 2-3 coats with 10 minutes of flash-off between coats.
- Full drying time of the paint is two hours.
If higher strength and durability are needed
In some cases the coating has to be particularly resistant to solvents and abrasion. Alkyd paints are then the better choice.
- Before painting, clean the surface of dirt and degrease it with the universal degreaser KU-9102.
- Alkyd materials lay down on plastic worse than acrylic ones, so the surface has to be primed with the adhesive activator KU-6000 in one coat.
- If you need one of the RAL colors, you can use the matt paint for profiled sheeting and metal roof tiles KU-0XXXXR or the gloss 3P TECHNOLOGY KU-1XXX. And if you need an unusual color, take a look at the alkyd automotive paint KU-4XXXX — the choice of colors there is very wide. All alkyd paints are applied in 2-3 coats with 10-15 minutes of flash-off between coats.
Important! The maximum interval between coats must not exceed two hours, otherwise the finish will be ruined. Alkyd paints dry in 5 to 24 hours. Once dry, an alkyd paint keeps building hardness, strength and wear resistance for another two weeks. For these first two weeks after painting the part must not be contact-washed, polished or subjected to any other mechanical stress.
