Polyurethane sealant KUDO® PROFF PU 40 is intended for bonding various building materials and sealing joints. Forms elastic and durable joints which are resistant to vibration and deformation.
Suitable for filling facade and roof joints; sealing roof drains, pipe penetrations and roof supports; sealing lightweight metal and steel structures, ventilation systems, containers and tanks; and filling and sealing vertical and horizontal movement joints, concrete panel joints, and cable and pipe penetrations.
Excellent adhesion to most construction materials, including brick, concrete, stone, ceramic and concrete tiles, glass, plasterboard, polyurethane, plastics (except polyethylene, polypropylene and fluoropolymers), enamel, ceramics, steel, copper, zinc, lead, aluminum and wood. Test adhesion beforehand on difficult substrates such as PVC, ABS, PMMA, aluminum and lacquered metal. No primer required. For interior and exterior use.
Forms a high-strength, durable joint that remains elastic throughout its service life. Resistant to loads and vibration and suitable for joining materials with different coefficients of thermal expansion. Resistant to weathering and temperature changes. Thixotropic: does not run or sag in the joint and resists dust accumulation after curing. Paintable with water-based and synthetic paints; test compatibility before using solvent-based paints.

Application
- It’s recommended to apply the product at an ambient temperature from +5°C to +35°C. When it is cold, keep the sealant at +20°C before use.
- Apply the sealant to clean, degreased surfaces. For degreasing and cleaning, Silicone Remover KU-9100 is recommended. Sand the surface if necessary. Clean again after sanding.
- Protect surfaces with masking tape to ensure an accurate application and remove it immediately after applying the sealant.
- For application, use a dispensing gun for sealants in foil packs.
- Prepare the dispensing gun: fully retract the plunger, unscrew the retaining nut and nozzle, and insert the foil pack. Carefully cut off the exposed end of the pack. Refit and secure the nozzle and retaining nut, ensuring that the opened end of the pack sits inside the nozzle. Cut the nozzle at a 45° angle to obtain an opening of the required size.
- Apply a continuous bead without gaps or excessive build-up.
- Tool the sealant in the joint with a damp spatula. A soapy water solution is particularly effective.
- Remove cured sealant mechanically.
- Tack-free time is no more than 60 minutes, curing rate of 2.5-5.0 mm per day (at 23°C and 50% humidity).
- Remove uncured adhesive from surfaces with a solvent (acetone, white spirit).
- Clean tools with acetone or white spirit.
- Remove cured adhesive mechanically.
- Bonded items can be operated from -40°C to +50°C.
Warning! Do not use on surfaces where contact with food is possible.
