Multipurpose Epoxy Putty “Cold Weld”
KU-H101
KUDO® KU-H101 “Cold Weld” is a two-part, high-viscosity polymer compound for fast, strong and leak-tight bonding of items made of metal, glass, ceramics, wood and most plastics. It replaces welding where welding is impractical or impossible.
Simple and economical to use. Used to repair tools, garden equipment, plumbing fixtures, hot and cold water pipes and other household items. Prevents galvanic corrosion at the bond line between metals.
The cured compound is leak-tight and strong, withstands significant static and dynamic loads and can be machined: ground, drilled and tapped. Resistant to water, antifreeze, oils and other technical fluids. The repaired item can be used at temperatures from -60°C to +150°C.
Benefits

Application
- Work is recommended at a temperature from +5°C to +35°C, with the compound at +15-20°C. The product may be used at sub-zero temperatures (down to -10°C) if it was prepared at the recommended temperature.
- Clean the surfaces to be bonded of dirt and rust with an abrasive material and roughen them to improve adhesion. Degrease with KU-9100 Silicone Remover. Let dry.
- Wear protective gloves to avoid direct skin contact.
- Cut off as much of the product as the repair requires. To get the correct ratio of the components, make the cut perpendicular to the axis of the putty stick.
- Dampen the gloves with water. Knead the putty thoroughly to a uniform plastic mass and apply it to the repair area. Clamp the surfaces to be bonded.
- When rebuilding parts, shape the putty and smooth its surface with a damp spatula. The shape can be adjusted within 20 minutes at +20°C. At higher temperatures the shaping time is shorter.
- Cure time is 1 hour at a temperature of at least +20°C; full strength is reached in 24 hours.
- Wrap the remaining putty stick in film and put it back into the tube until next use.
- While the compound is curing, do not subject the repaired item to shaking or impact loads: this can affect the strength of the bond.
Warning! Do not use the compound to repair kitchenware that comes into direct contact with food.
Important! If the compound has hardened after the shelf life has expired or because the storage conditions were not met, warm it up to +60°C before use. A heating radiator, hot water or the surface of a car engine will do. Let the compound cool down a little and it will regain its original properties. When stored correctly, the compound can keep its properties after the shelf life has expired.
